Welcome to the Kingston & District Referees' Society web site.

We are affiliated to The Referees' Association of England & Surrey County RA.

Our motto is "Service before Self".

The Society's objects are
-To provide opportunities for members to meet monthly for the discussion of matters relating to the work of referees
- For the protection of its members
- To recruit and train referees

Membership is open to all currently-registered and past-registered referees upon payment of the current subscription to the Treasurer. Members of other Societies are welcome to join as Associates at a lesser amount.

The current subscription is £22.00 (£10.00 for under 18s) and this includes membership of the National RA and insurance cover.

We think this is very good value as it represents under one match fee from local football and gives a vast array of benefits.

The Society meets at the Metropolitan Police Sports Club, Imber Court, Ember Lane, Molesey on the third Monday in the month (August to May) starting at 8.00pm.Click here for directions

We usually have around 50 members each season from all standards of refereeing and we currently have members who officiate at all levels from FIFA downwards

Meetings are informal social occasions where we discuss all aspects of football and refereeing over a chat and a drink. At meetings we have either a guest speaker or a discussion topic for the evening. The Society holds a number of social events over the course of the season including the Christmas Social.

So how do I become a referee?

In Surrey, the only way to qualify as a referee is to be trained via one of the 12 local Referees' Societies affiliated to the County Referees' Association.

Please complete the enquiry form on the County FA website to register an interest and you will be contacted. You can see the details of the requirements, the costs involved here and where the courses are being run here.

On-going training

The Society provides training at its monthly meetings throughout the Season and also the County FA Referees' Training Committee organises regular In-Service Training sessions centrally within the county; the details being available on their website at http://www.surreyfa.com/GetIntoFootball/Referees/I.S.T.Dates/
