About The Society
Welcome to the Leeds & District RA web site. The world of football needs referees from the lowest levels of junior football through to the worlds elite of FIFA. If this is your first visit, we hope you find our website of interest. If you're thinking of taking up the whistle then a quick tour around the site will provide you with all the details you require. Centenary Dinner
The Leeds & District RA held their Centenary Dinner at the Hilton Leeds City on the 1st of September 2007. Tickets were snapped up very quickly. Guest's included, The Lord Mayor of Leeds, David Elleray (President of the Referees Association of England) and Harold Hackney JP (Former Football League Referee).
We hope to have more information and pictures of this event added to the site soon.
Headquarters
The Leeds & District Referees' Association is based in Kirkstall, Leeds. Members Meetings are held at the Leeds Postal Sports Association Club on the 3rd Tuesday of each month between August and April, with Council Meetings on the 1st Tuesday. Meetings commence at 7.30pm All members and non-members are welcome.
Affiliation
We are affiliated to the West Riding County Football Association and usually have around 100 members each season from all standards of refereeing. We currently have members who officiate on local leagues up to the Football League. Leeds RA are a member of the Referees Association of England (RAE).
Meetings
Meetings are informal social occasions where we discuss all aspects of football and refereeing over a chat and a drink. We have either a guest speaker or a discussion topic for the evening, together with regular in-service training delivered by an FA Referees Instructor. The Society holds a number of social events over the course of the season including a Christmas Social, Annual Dinner, and Annual Race Night.
