County Committee Meetings: The County Committee meets on the third Thursday each month during the season, apart from November when the meeting is usually held at the end of the month. No meeting is normally scheduled for December.
Through the Branch network the Committee provides an RAE Representative in the foyer at all NCFA Disciplinary Commissions. The Representative will offer advice and support to referees before and after appearance in the Commission.
Branch Meetings: Branches meet locally once a month during the season. Meeting nights vary (details can be obtained from the secretaries listed above).

Norfolk Referees' Society particularly requests referees to note the following items:
Referees are reminded of the need to control the use by participants of 'industrial language' that can be deemed Offensive, Insulting or Abusive.
Referees must take care when recording cautions and send offs. Do not rely on team sheets because on occasions players have worn a shirt with a different number to that recorded on the team sheet.
If referees experience problems as a result of spectators or other persons consuming alcohol on the touchline during matches they should report the matter to the appropriate county FA and advise the County RAE via the email facility on this website.
Referees are reminded that metal cup hooks for goal nets are illegal. Do not allow a match to proceed if these items are in use. Also, the minimum age for a player in adult football is 16 at grassroots level.
NEWS
January: The County Committee is looking for someone to take over as editor of the Bulletin for next season. Darin Geary is unable to continue in the position. Darin has transformed the Bulletin into a very fine publication since taking over as editor 15 months ago and it is hoped that someone else can now continue the good work.
January 2010: The annual inter-branch County Quiz will be held on Wednesday 4th March at Dereham Town FC.
December: Don't forget that Norfolk RAE 15 year membership & meritorious service awards can be applied for and that Norfolk FA have long service awards for referees. Speak to your Branch secretary if you think you may be eligible.
November: If any referee considers that the changing/toilet faclities provided for match officials at a ground in Norfolk is unacceptable would he or she please report it via the email facility on the home page of this website or to the local RAE Branch secretary.
October: The FA is awaiting clarification from the Government as to whether referees will come within new Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups legislation due to be implemented. Until the situation is clarified referees will not be required to renew their CRB check.
July: At the RA Conference the national vote was nearly 100% in favour of the South Beds Motion. This means that the schedule is for the RAE to cease to exist on 1st April 2010 and the RA in its current form will be disbanded and re-formed into a national association for members in England only. Wales and N. Ireland will no longer come under the overall control of the RA and will have their own automonous associations. This is seen as a major step forward for all the associations.
May: The winner of the County RAE George Watts Trophy for 08/09 was Vince Roper. Vince is well known throughout the county for his varied roles, including still being an active referee at the age of 67.
23rd April: If you spotted David Beckham with tape on his wedding ring finger during recent England internationals The FA has explained it by stating that there is no ring under the tape. Apparently he wears the tape as a mark of respect to his wife.
13th March: For the 09/10 promotion season level 6 to 5 candidates will only receive 4 assessments (including a senior match). This has had to be reduced from 6 assessments due to the shortage of assessors and the anticipated number of assessments needing to be carried out.
4th December 2008 (Wedding Rings): Norfolk FA has issued a statement, the basis of which indicates that referees registered with Norfolk may allow a player, at grassroots level, who is unable to remove his plain band wedding ring to take part provided the ring is safely taped. The referee should make a report of the circumstances to Norfolk FA as soon as possible after the game. Other jewellery & rings must be removed. This interim statement has been issued pending further instructions from The FA.
The FA has instigated Continuous Service Awards for 25, 40 & 50 consecutive years involvement in refereeing (as a referee, instructor, assessor etc). Application forms are available via branch secretaries and applications should be made direct to Norfolk FA.
